Garage conversions are a great simple solution to more space. Transforming a clut-tered un-used garage into an office,
lounge, bedroom, and playroom the possibilities are endless! Building a garage conversion is a simple process,
as it suggests its converting an existing structure. If you have any reservations about the room
still being recognisable as a garage, then be reassured that after the conversion is complete
and window is in, it will look as if it has always been there.
A garage is usually a wasted space, rarely used to store the family car, so when you are
considering the need for extra space for a growing family, a garage conversion is the
simple answer. With minimal effort, cost and disruption, you could make that much
needed space sooner than you anticipated. Transforming a dull dark and
cold garage in to a warm and inviting space, adaptable to suit yours
and your family's needs. A tandem or double garage could only
partially be converted leaving space for the bikes and garden tools.

Handy hints and tips...
Don't let price be your guide
"Throw out the lowest bid". This contractor is probably cutting corners or, worse, desperate for work. Beyond technical competence, comfort should play an equal or greater role in your decision. The single most important factor in choosing a contractor is how well you and he communicate.
Put it in writing
Draw up a contract that details every step of the project: payment schedule; proof of liability insurance and worker's compensation payments; a start date and projected completion date; specific materials and products to be used. Check that your contractor is licensed and insured too!
